Requirements for my next phone; all or nothing
I have never really valued my mobile phone highly in any regard. My phone use is strictly down to alarm clock, calling and txt’ng (In that order). It might seem a little weird considering I call myself a gadget freak, but that’s how it is.
The reason behind this is basically that I have been unpleasantly surprised whenever I have tried doing more with my phones. Add to that and on growing desire to get a ‘one device does it all’. When you like me, are looking for a phone with GPS sat nav, Wifi, decent browser, camera, video camera, music and video player and what seems to be the most rare, a decent keypad, you quickly give up searching. I guess I have had the theory that either I want it all or I want nothing.

I have lately started looking again, mostly because I like the idea of using services like Qik and twitter on the go. So why is it that this phone still doesn’t exist? The iPhone and Google’s G1 looked like decent competitors, but yet they fail.
I was excited about the G1 for quite some time, mainly because it runs on Android, but also because I use quite a few of Google’s services. Unfortunately this phone failed at video recording.

I have never really liked the iPhone for the exact opposite reason, it blocks everything that is free software. Again, the iPhone failed at the simple requirement of video recording, among others.
I’m now thinking if I should go for a Nokia like the N95/96 or a BlackBerry. But I haven’t taken the time to check them against my, apparently harsh, requirements.
